Cambodia Briefs 18-Country Military Attaché Corps on Border Situation
Cambodia's Ministry of National Defence, led by Secretary of State Lt. Gen. Rath Dararoth, briefed the Phnom Penh Military Attaché Corps -- 22 representatives from 18 countries -- on developments leading to the 2025 armed clashes, the December 27, 2025 ceasefire, and the current security situation in border areas. The briefing noted temporary border markers placed between specific pillar pairs in November-December 2025 and described ongoing obstacles to normalization, including troop movements, barbed-wire barriers, container placements and construction of permanent structures that continue to disrupt civilian returns. Officials reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to resolving the dispute through the Joint Boundary Commission and Joint Survey Teams.
