Cambodia Protests Thai Military Helicopter Incursion Near Doung Border Gate

| Thailand-Cambodia Border

A Thai military helicopter flew approximately 400 metres into Cambodian airspace near the Doung International Border Gate in Kamrieng district, Battambang province. Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs lodged a formal protest, calling the entry a breach of national sovereignty and citing Article 3(c) of the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, which bars state aircraft from overflying another state without permission, as well as Point 6 of the de-escalation measures agreed at the December 27, 2025 GBC Special Meeting. The government called on Thailand 'to immediately cease such actions and honour its commitments to de-escalate the situation,' while reaffirming its own commitment to peaceful resolution.
