SAF Intensifies South Kordofan Offensive Along Kadugli-Delling Road; 100+ Civilians Killed in Delling Since February

| Sudan Conflict

The Sudanese Armed Forces launched intensified clearing operations across South Kordofan on April 18–19, pushing against RSF and SPLM-N (al-Hilu) positions along the strategic Kadugli-Delling road. Radio Dabanga reported that over 100 civilians have been killed in Delling since February 2026, with at least 35 deaths in early April alone, as the city remains encircled by RSF-SPLM-N forces. Heavy fighting has centered on the road connecting Kadugli and Dilling, with over 25 additional people injured from indiscriminate shelling and airstrikes on residential areas. Delling's two remaining operational medical facilities are functioning at severely limited capacity with the main teaching hospital completely non-functional. Over 50,000 civilians face acute risk with critical shortages of food, fuel, and medicine. The SAF push represents part of the sustained counteroffensive to relieve Delling and sever RSF logistics routes through South Kordofan, following SAF's earlier recapture of Al-Tukma on April 8.
