RSF Massacre 16 Civilians in El Fasher; Raoul Wallenberg Centre Documents 40+ Razed Villages
RSF forces massacred at least 16 civilians in El Fasher, North Darfur, continuing a documented pattern of atrocities since the city's capture in October 2025. The killings occurred amid ongoing ethnic targeting of Zaghawa and Fur communities in the city. Simultaneously, the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights released new research documenting that the RSF razed over 40 farming communities in the area surrounding El Fasher prior to its October 2025 capture, deliberately destroying agricultural livelihoods in what researchers described as part of the genocidal campaign against non-Arab communities in North Darfur. UN Fact-Finding Mission findings from February 2026 had previously concluded RSF violations in El Fasher 'amount to war crimes' and show 'hallmarks of genocide.' An ICC investigation into the Darfur situation is ongoing.
