Day 796: Gunmen Hit Rehab Center, Event Hall and Home in Three Culiacán Attacks

Within hours of each other on Saturday, September 26, 2026, gunmen carried out three separate shooting attacks in Culiacán. At a drug rehabilitation center on Calle Viviano Dávalos in the Revolución neighborhood, Liam Yan 'N', a 42-year-old Chinese national, was wounded by gunfire and taken to hospital by Red Cross paramedics. At the Salón Capistrano event hall on Calle Camario in the Rafael Buelna neighborhood, gunmen fired directly at the facade and doors before fleeing, causing no injuries. At a private residence in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood, bullets struck the facade, doors and windows and pierced a stationary LP gas tank, triggering a leak that the Culiacán Fire Department brought under control. The Mexican Army and State Police cordoned off all three sites; state forensic teams collected ballistic evidence and dozens of spent shell casings.
