Day 797: Two Killed, One Wounded in Predawn Attack on Gathering in Montesierra, Culiacán

At around 1:00 AM on Sunday, September 27, 2026, three men gathered for drinks in front of a residence at the corner of Calle Ajusco and Los Alpes, in the Ampliación Montesierra sector of north Culiacán, were attacked with gunfire. A man identified as Rosario died at the scene; a second victim, Rubén Alonso 'N', 28, from the Otatillos community, died later at the hospital. The third man was wounded and remained under medical care, not officially identified as of the report. The State Fiscalía General opened an investigation; the same location saw a similar deadly attack in May 2026.
