Day 791: Motorcyclist Ambushed and Shot Dead in Mazatlán's Emiliano Zapata Neighborhood

At around 9:40 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, armed men waited for a motorcyclist at the corner of Libramiento Colosio and Emiliano Zapata street in Mazatlán's Colonia Emiliano Zapata, intercepted him and fired six shots at close range until he stopped moving. The victim, a man believed to be 30–35 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene by Bomberos Veteranos paramedics; he remained unidentified as of the report. Municipal police, Federal Protection Service agents, and Army and Navy personnel established a security perimeter while state prosecutors conducted the forensic investigation.
