Day 789: Two Men Shot Dead Behind Locked Door During Home Attack in Escuinapa's Pueblo Nuevo

At around 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, two men — one identified as Essiel Francisco 'N', 33, the other unidentified — were standing outside a property on Río Culiacán street, near Río Évora and Río Las Cañas in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood of Escuinapa, when armed men approached. The pair ran into the residence and locked the door, but the gunmen fired through it, killing both. Municipal police and Mexican Army personnel responded to a report received at 1:35 PM local dispatch time; no arrests had been made as of the report.
