Day 782: Man and Woman Found Shot Dead Near Pueblo Nuevo Sports Center in Escuinapa

At around 9:03 AM on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the bodies of a man and a woman were found alongside a red bicycle beneath a tree on a road near the Polideportivo in Escuinapa's Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, in Sinaloa's southern gateway municipality. Both were later identified as María Oralia 'N', 47, and José Feliciano 'N', 38. Both bore gunshot wounds; the woman's face was reportedly covered. Investigators recovered multiple spent cartridges at the scene. Forensic personnel and National Guard agents processed the site before the bodies were transferred to the Medical Examiner's office in Mazatlán. The case brought Escuinapa's 2026 femicide count to 15, and came a day after the municipality recorded a separate homicide alongside Highway Mexico 15.
