Day 781: Woman Killed as Gunmen Chase Red Pickup Near Infonavit Humaya Overpass

| Sinaloa Split

During the afternoon of Saturday, September 12, 2026, armed subjects pursued a red Ford Ranger pickup truck along Boulevard José Limón — the Culiacán–Los Mochis international highway — near the road distributor by Infonavit Humaya in northern Culiacán, firing repeatedly with long guns. The truck lost control, jumped the median and crashed into the overpass railing. Red Cross paramedics found the driver, believed to be a woman, dead inside the vehicle; her identity was not officially confirmed at the time of reporting. Mexican Army personnel and state investigators closed both lanes of the overpass while processing the scene. The killing was one of four homicides recorded in Culiacán that day, part of a wider wave of violence across Sinaloa state.
