Day 779: Armed Pursuit Through Los Mezcales and Loma de Rodriguera Leaves Two Men Wounded

Shortly before 11:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, authorities were alerted to heavy gunfire at Avenida Álvaro Obregón and Calle Benjamín J. López in the Los Mezcales neighborhood of north Culiacán. Army personnel and state police recovered numerous rifle and handgun casings at the scene. The pursuit continued roughly a kilometer to Avenida Primera Norte in the Loma de Rodriguera sector, where officers found two wounded men inside a black Jeep Cherokee. The Red Cross transported both to hospital; their conditions were not disclosed. State investigative authorities documented the scene.
