Day 712: Regional Mexican Singer Adán R, Ex-Los Nuevos Rebeldes Vocalist, Shot Dead at His Culiacán Home
José Adán Rodríguez, known professionally as Adán R. and a former vocalist of the regional Mexican group Los Nuevos Rebeldes, was shot multiple times by armed assailants on the night of Sunday, July 5, 2026, in the garage of his home in northern Culiacán. He died at the scene before medical attention could arrive. Rodríguez, 29, had announced his departure from Los Nuevos Rebeldes in February 2025 to pursue a solo career. No suspects have been identified; the Fiscalía General del Estado de Sinaloa opened an investigation. Authorities have not attributed the killing to either cartel faction, but the murder occurred amid the broader wave of targeted violence — including against musicians and public figures — that has characterized the Chapitos–La Mayiza conflict in Culiacán.
