Day 709: Four Homicides Open July in Culiacán — Taquería Shooting, Apartment Ambush, Wrapped Body, Highway Killing

July opened with four homicides in Culiacán on July 2, 2026. Jorge "N" (44) was shot dead while dining in a taquería on Avenida Los Empaques, Barrancos sector; a waiter was wounded by bullet fragments in the same attack. Jesús "N" (23) was killed by multiple gunshots inside a second-floor apartment on Calle Plan de Iguala, Colonia Emiliano Zapata; the attackers fled unidentified. In the Villa Bonita subdivision, near a secondary school, the body of an unidentified young person wrapped in plastic and showing bullet wounds was found. On the Culiacán–Eldorado highway, in the Costa Rica district, Raúl Francisco "N" (18) was found shot dead. The Fiscalía General del Estado reported five homicides, two "levantones" (forced disappearances), and one vehicle theft statewide for the same 24-hour period.
