Day 714: Harfuch Reports 44% Homicide Reduction, 94.5 Tonnes of Drugs Seized in 20-Month Sinaloa Operation

Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch reported on July 7, 2026 that federal operations in Sinaloa since October 2024 (20 months) had produced a 44% reduction in the average daily intentional-homicide rate compared to June 2025, alongside 2,540 detentions of high-impact criminals, 94.5 tonnes of drugs seized (including 2 million fentanyl pills), 5,900 firearms confiscated, and 2,412 clandestine labs dismantled, using approximately 16,440 deployed federal personnel. Harfuch also confirmed reinforcement operations in El Rosario municipality following the July 3 marine killing, reporting ten alleged criminals killed and three detained there in the response.
