Day 704: Search Collectives Recover Seven Bodies Across Culiacán and Navolato in a Single Day
On June 27, 2026, authorities and search collectives recovered at least seven bodies across Sinaloa's state capital and Navolato municipality in a single day — one of the highest single-day discovery counts of the month. In Culiacán, bodies were located in Colonia Infonavit Humaya, at the entrance to the municipal landfill, in Colonia Independencia, along a dirt road leading to a farm, and in Colonia Nakayama. In Navolato, members of the search collective Sabuesas/Sabuesos Guerreras recovered three bodies in advanced decomposition floating in the waters of the El Castillo fishing camp (campo pesquero El Castillo), wrapped in blankets and bound with fishing nets. The collective said it noticed unusual objects while conducting an unrelated search and alerted the Fiscalía General del Estado, which secured the bodies overnight for transfer to the Servicio Médico Forense. The collective requested expedited forensic genetic testing, noting the victims' identities remain unknown, and said it believes additional remains may be present in the same mangrove/estuary zone.
