FAMa and Wagner Forces Kill 500+ Civilians in the Moura Massacre

Malian Armed Forces and approximately 100 white soldiers speaking a non-French European language (identified as Wagner mercenaries by witnesses) conduct a 5-day operation in Moura village, executing at least 500 civilians according to the May 2023 UN OHCHR report. Approximately 58 women are subjected to sexual violence. The Malian government claims only 203 'terrorists' were killed. It is the single worst documented atrocity in Mali's decade-long conflict.
