Prigozhin Mutiny in Russia — Wagner Rebranded as Africa Corps

Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin stages a brief mutiny against Russian military leadership. Although the mutiny is called off within 24 hours, Prigozhin is killed in a plane crash on August 23, 2023. Wagner's Africa operations are subsequently restructured under Russian MoD/GRU direct control and rebranded as 'Africa Corps,' with no operational disruption in Mali, where deployments continue.
