Rosneft's Kuibyshev refinery in Samara halted again after drone strike on both crude units
Oil processing at Rosneft's Kuibyshev refinery in Samara city — a distinct facility from the Novokuibyshevsk refinery struck Aug 22 — has been halted since Aug 28 after a Ukrainian drone attack damaged both of the plant's primary crude distillation units, CDU-4 and CDU-5, each with a capacity of about 70,000 barrels per day, two industry sources told Reuters. The refinery, which accounts for roughly 1.3% of Russia's total refining throughput and produces gasoline, diesel and fuel oil, had only just resumed operations on Aug 21 after completing a major overhaul that began July 1 — meaning it was shut down again about a week after restarting.
