Reuters: Russia's gasoline output falls to about 70% of domestic demand

Russia's gasoline production fell to roughly 70% of domestic consumption by late August, Reuters reported, citing industry sources, after a wave of drone attacks forced refineries in Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl and elsewhere to suspend operations. Average August output ran around 90,000 tonnes/day (about 80% of estimated summer demand of 115,000 tonnes/day), but the latest emergency shutdowns widened the daily production-demand gap to roughly 35,000 tonnes, with current output near 80,000 tonnes/day. Russia is leaning on imports to close the gap: seaborne gasoline from Asia is expected to total about 270,000 tonnes in August, alongside roughly 150,000 tonnes from Belarus.
