Security Forces Foil Vehicle-Borne Suicide Attack on Military Post Near Miranshah

Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP-aligned) militants attempted to drive an explosives-laden vehicle into a military post near Miranshah, North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Alert security forces engaged the vehicle before it reached the gate, destroying it and killing four attackers in a follow-on operation. No security force casualties were reported. The foiled attack occurred during an ongoing security forces operation in North Waziristan's Shewa area, which had been running since mid-May. ISPR noted the operation reflects the military's 'Azm-e-Istehkam' campaign against the TTP.
