Junta Artillery Wounds Two Civilians Near Lu Myan Village, Waingmaw Township, in KIA Interception

Around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, KIA-led forces intercepted a junta military column near Lu Myan village, about seven miles east of Waingmaw Township, Kachin State. Junta forces responded with artillery and shellfire; shells struck the neighboring village of Wu Yang, wounding two civilian men, one critically. A KIA officer, Col. Naw Bu, said the clash itself was brief but the shellfire was intense — part of what remains the fiercest of three active Kachin State battlefronts around Bhamo.
