Junta Bombing Runs Destroy Half of Kaung Tong Village After Bhamo Vessel Losses

Following the loss of six Military Commission vessels to a KIA-led ambush near Sawati on September 13, junta Y-12 aircraft and fighter jets carried out retaliatory bombing runs against Sawati, Kaung Tong and Nyaung Pin Thar villages in Kachin State that continued into September 14, 2026. Roughly half of Kaung Tong village was reportedly destroyed by fire as a result of the strikes.
