Junta Jet Kills 16-Year-Old Girl, Injures 8 in Four Bombing Runs on Samee Town

Between 11:23pm and 11:40pm on August 12, 2026, a junta fighter jet carried out four consecutive bombing runs on Ward 2 of Samee Town, Paletwa Township, Chin State, an AA-controlled area on the upper Kaladan River. A 16-year-old girl was killed and 8 residents were injured, including three children aged 8, 10, and 11. The strike came a day after a separate junta bomb injured two teenage girls near the entrance to Paletwa Town, part of an intensifying aerial campaign across AA/CNF-contested townships along the Rakhine-Chin border.
