Junta Airstrike Kills 14 in Rakhine's Thandwe Township
A junta fighter jet bombed Kyauk Gyi village near a monastery between Thandwe and Gwa on August 10, 2026, killing at least 14 people (11 female, 3 male, ages 9-88) and injuring 11, damaging ~20 houses. The Arakan Army said it was part of a wider week-long air campaign across six Rakhine townships as the junta increasingly relies on air power after sustaining heavy ground-combat losses.
