PDF Captures ~70 Pyu Saw Htee Militia Members and Families in Pauk Township — 200+ Civilians Rescued from Kokkosu Village After Junta Militia Fled
The Anyar Land Coalition (PDF alliance) confirmed on June 7, 2026 the capture of approximately 70 Pyu Saw Htee pro-junta militia members and family members in Pauk Township, Magway Region, following the PDF's capture of the Kukkosu (Kokkosu) militia camp during operations on June 2–4. The Anyar Land Coalition seized the Yay Pyar police station on June 2, then captured the Kukkosu Pyu Saw Htee militia camp on June 4, killing 40+ junta troops and militia, taking 20+ prisoners alive, and seizing 30+ weapons including a 60mm mortar. More than 200 civilians who had been trapped in Kokkosu village were freed and given medical care. The 70+ militia members captured — including elderly members in their 60s–70s and at least one man with a child — fled toward the Myaing Township border area before being intercepted. They are being held as prisoners of war; the militia leader and five others remained at large as of June 7. The operation in Pauk Township follows the PDF's May 26 liberation of a Pyu Saw Htee camp in Myaing Township (49 civilians rescued) and represents the sustained resistance dismantling of junta-aligned militia networks across the Magway-Sagaing corridor, where the PDF has been conducting a strategic attrition campaign against SAC infrastructure and proxy forces throughout 2026.
