AA and Resistance Attack Junta Hilltop Base in Padan Township, Magway

On March 29, Arakan Army forces and allied resistance fighters resumed attacks on a junta-held Nat Yay Kan hilltop base in Padan Township, Magway Region. The junta responded with heavy artillery barrages and airstrikes on nearby villages. The Padan Township clashes reflect the Arakan Army's expanding operational footprint into Magway Region — far beyond its traditional Rakhine State base of operations — as part of a broader multi-front pressure strategy on the junta. Magway Region has been an important PDF operational area and the AA's expansion into the region opens additional supply lines between resistance forces.
