Lashio Falls to MNDAA/TNLA — Northern Shan Capital Lost

MNDAA and TNLA forces captured Lashio on approximately August 3, 2024, seizing the capital of Northern Shan State — a major SAC military hub and home to the Northeastern Regional Military Command. This was the first time an EAO had captured a regional military command headquarters since the post-coup conflict began. The fall of Lashio represented a catastrophic strategic defeat for the junta, stripping it of control over Myanmar's second-largest state by population.
