AA Captures Paletwa Township (Chin State Border)

Arakan Army forces captured Paletwa Township in Chin State on January 15, 2024, a strategically important area on the Kaladan River corridor that connects the India-funded Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project to Rakhine State. The capture gave the AA control of an economically and strategically significant route. It also demonstrated the AA's ability to extend operations beyond traditional Rakhine State boundaries.
