Sheinbaum Inaugurated — First Female President of Mexico

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo was inaugurated as Mexico's 66th president — the first woman to hold the office in 200 years of Mexican independence. AMLO transferred the presidential sash in a ceremony at the Chamber of Deputies attended by 30 heads of state. Sheinbaum promised to continue the 4T while emphasizing scientific knowledge and sustainability. She received the Bastón de Mando from indigenous communities in a ceremony at the Zócalo.
