#YoSoy132 Student Movement

The #YoSoy132 student movement emerged when 131 students from Iberoamericana Universidad challenged Peña Nieto's version of events during a campus visit — he had claimed they were political infiltrators. The students posted a video of themselves with IDs. The movement expanded into a mass protest against media manipulation (Televisa's coverage of Peña Nieto), and became one of Mexico's first major social-media-driven political movements.
