Peña Nieto Elected — PRI Returns to Power

Enrique Peña Nieto (PRI) won the presidency with 38.2%, defeating AMLO (25.9%) and PAN's Josefina Vázquez Mota (25.4%). PRI's return after 12 years was aided by massive media coverage — Televisa was accused of systematically favoring Peña Nieto — and the party's organizational capacity in rural areas. AMLO again rejected the results but with less support than 2006.
