Calderón Wins Disputed Election by 0.56%
Felipe Calderón (PAN) was declared winner over AMLO (PRD-led coalition) by 243,934 votes — 0.56% — after the IFE's controversial vote count. AMLO refused to accept the result, declared himself 'legitimate president,' set up a tent city in Paseo de la Reforma for weeks, and held a counter-inauguration in the Zócalo. The TEPJF upheld the result. The crisis left Mexico polarized for over a decade.
