Military Archives Partially Opened — Key Records Still Withheld
Under pressure from the Truth Commission and civil society, the Mexican Army (SEDENA) allows partial access to archives from the 1968 period. Researchers gain access to some operational documents and DFS liaison records. However, key files — including those identifying the commanders of the Olympia Battalion and the fate of detainees at Campo Militar No. 1 — remain classified or are reported missing. Human rights organizations condemn the selective disclosure.
