Ovidio Guzmán López Detained by Army GAIN Unit

Army intelligence unit GAIN elements entered the compound and detained Ovidio Guzmán López. Within minutes, word spread through the Sinaloa Cartel's enforcement arm, Los Chapitos. The cartel launched a near-immediate coordinated citywide counterattack. By approximately 3:45 PM, the Security Cabinet of the Mexican government informed President López Obrador of the operation.
