Israeli Strikes Kill 19 Across South Lebanon Including 3 Children and 4 Women
Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday, May 19 killed at least 19 people across southern Lebanon, including 3 children and 4 women, in one of the deadliest single-day tolls of the week. A single strike on Deir Qanoun al-Nahr in the coastal Tyre (Sur) province killed 10 people — including 3 children and 3 women — in the worst incident of the day. A separate strike on Nabatieh city killed 4 people and wounded 10. A third strike on the nearby village of Kfar Sir killed 5 more. Lebanon's Health Ministry described the Deir Qanoun al-Nahr strike as among the deadliest single strikes of the week. The IDF stated it had targeted more than 25 Hezbollah infrastructure sites in south Lebanon in the 24-hour period, asserting that all strikes targeted military infrastructure. The attacks occurred just days after the announcement of a 45-day ceasefire extension, drawing renewed international calls for accountability.
