IDF Shoots Four Palestinians Including Two Minors Guarding Settler Raid Near Ramallah; Settlers Beat Woman and Child in Burqa; Police Seek Warrants for Qusra Attackers
Overnight into Monday, August 31, 2026, IDF soldiers shot and wounded four Palestinians, including two minors, with live fire near Ramallah in the West Bank while providing security for a settler operation in which settlers besieged a house and stole equipment from its yard, according to Palestinian medics. Separately the same day, Israeli settlers broke into a home on the outskirts of the central West Bank village of Burqa and beat a woman and a child, according to village mayor Sayel Kanaan; the attackers also attempted to set fire to a tractor, a vehicle scrapyard and a sheep pen. Israeli soldiers who arrived at the scene arrested only Palestinians, not the Israeli attackers, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. In a related development, Israeli police asked a court to issue arrest warrants for settlers suspected of involvement in Saturday's storming of a Palestinian home in Qusra, after a High Court petition filed by 10 Palestinian residents alleged settlers had repeatedly attacked the village while the military failed to enforce its own closure order; the suspects remained in the village and no arrests had been made as of Monday.
