Israeli Forces Detain 12 Palestinians in Overnight West Bank Raids; Settlers Burn Two Vehicles in Beita

Overnight into Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Israeli forces conducted raids across multiple West Bank towns, detaining 12 Palestinians. In Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, forces detained three Palestinians; in the al-Jawza neighborhood of Nablus' Old City, soldiers raided a metal workshop, seized equipment, and detained its owner along with his two sons after also raiding their home. In al-Rashaydeh village east of Bethlehem, forces raided several homes and detained and questioned four Palestinians, while in the town of Aqaba, north of Tubas, two young men were detained after their homes were raided. Separately, Israeli settlers set fire to two Palestinian vehicles parked in front of residents' homes in the eastern part of Beita, a town south of Nablus, early Wednesday morning. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 628 attacks across the West Bank in the preceding month alone, with Ramallah and al-Bireh (157 incidents) and Nablus (137) the hardest-hit governorates.
