Israeli Forces Shoot Four Palestinians While Accompanying Settler Attack on Al-Mughayyir
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Israeli settlers entered the West Bank village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, and attacked residents' vehicles and homes. When Palestinians confronted the attackers, Israeli soldiers accompanying the settlers fired live ammunition and tear gas at the residents. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its medics treated four young Palestinian men wounded by live fire — two shot in the thigh, one in the chest and one in the abdomen — and evacuated them to hospital; several others were treated for tear-gas inhalation and rubber-coated bullet wounds. Village council head Amin Abu Aliya said Israeli forces were 'restricting access to the village and its surrounding area to Israeli settlers only' during the attack. The incident came a day after Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned settler violence in Qusra and Jalud, underscoring the gap between his statement and events on the ground.
