EU Unveils $1 Billion 'Team Gaza Initiative' for War Recovery

The European Commission announced a $1 billion aid and reconstruction fund, the 'Team Gaza Initiative,' at a donor meeting in Brussels, aimed at helping Gaza recover from more than two years of war. The fund will support restoring water and sanitation infrastructure, removing rubble, and re-establishing health infrastructure. It comes against a backdrop of UN/EU estimates that Gaza needs more than $71 billion over the next decade for full recovery, with $26.3 billion required in the first 18 months alone.
