Five-Day Settler Siege of Al-Jabour Family Ends With Elderly Man Detained, 7 Relatives Injured
For five consecutive days, Israeli settlers attacked the family of elderly Ibrahim Ismail al-Jabour in the Huwara area of Masafer Yatta, in the South Hebron Hills. Israeli soldiers who arrived at the scene protected the attacking settlers rather than the family, and by July 12 had detained al-Jabour himself, while seven of his relatives — including two children — were injured by settlers. No settler was arrested. OCHA has recorded more than 1,200 settler incidents causing casualties or property damage across the West Bank in 2026, roughly six a day.
