Palestinian Shot Dead by Israeli Settlers in Deir Dibwan; 30 Detained
Israeli settlers shot and killed one Palestinian in Deir Dibwan, a village east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, on April 22, 2026, according to WAFA (the official Palestinian news agency). Multiple other Palestinians were injured in the attack, and Israeli occupation forces detained approximately 30 people from the area during the same incident. Israeli forces also separately detained individuals from Nablus and Jenin in the day's broader operations. The Deir Dibwan killing comes one day after settlers killed a 14-year-old student and a 32-year-old man at al-Mughayyir Boys School northeast of Ramallah (April 21), and forms part of an intensifying wave of settler violence across the West Bank during Israel's Independence Day period. April 21–22 now represents one of the most lethal consecutive settler-violence episodes in 2026, with at least three Palestinians killed in two days.
