UAE Suspends Iranian Airline Flights Under US Sanctions Pressure

The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority suspended all flights by Iranian carriers (Iran Air, Iran Airtour, Kish Air, Qeshm Air) to and from the UAE effective Sept 24, complying with a US Treasury threat of secondary sanctions — including dollar-system exclusion — against airports and fuel/ground-handling providers that continue serving Iranian airlines. The UAE joins Oman, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkmenistan in restricting Iranian carriers. Iran retaliated by barring UAE-registered aircraft (Emirates, Etihad, flydubai) from its airspace.
