India Recaptures Tiger Hill — Key Kargil Peak

Indian Army's 18 Grenadiers regiment recaptured Tiger Hill (Point 5062) near Drass on July 4, 1999, in a grueling high-altitude battle. Tiger Hill was one of the most strategically significant peaks as it overlooked the Srinagar-Leh National Highway. Its recapture marked the turning point of the Kargil War and was celebrated across India.
