Chad to Deploy 750 Security Forces to Haiti's GSF as 18 Nations Pledge Troops

| Haiti

As of late March 2026, 18 nations had pledged personnel to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) authorized under UN Security Council Resolution 2793. Chad confirmed it would contribute 750 security force members currently training in the United States ahead of deployment to Haiti. A 'Standing Group of Partners' led by the United States includes the Bahamas, Canada, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Kenya as key members. Daniela Kroslak was appointed head of the newly created United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH), which will provide logistics, intelligence, and operational support to the incoming GSF. The U.S. Congress appropriated multi-year funding for the UNSOH, though some disbursements were reportedly delayed. El Salvador had already deployed approximately 70 personnel as an advance contingent, even as the U.S. froze a portion of its direct funding contribution to the mission.
