Laurent Saint-Cyr Takes TPC Presidency

Laurent Saint-Cyr assumed the rotating presidency of the Transitional Presidential Council on August 7, 2025, succeeding Fritz Jean in the six-month rotation. Saint-Cyr's mandate was focused on organizing elections, then scheduled for August 30, 2026. He later refused to sign a motion by TPC factions to remove PM Fils-Aimé in January 2026, preventing a political crisis.
