Fritz Alphonse Jean Becomes TPC President

Fritz Alphonse Jean, representing the Montana Accord, was sworn in as President of the Transitional Presidential Council on March 7, 2025, succeeding Leslie Voltaire in the rotating chairmanship. Jean, an economist and former Haitian Central Bank governor, was scheduled to lead the TPC until August 7, 2025. His appointment was seen as a concession to the civil society opposition that had long challenged the TPC's legitimacy.
