TPC Mandate Expires; Fils-Aimé Assumes Sole Executive Power

| Haiti

The Transitional Presidential Council's mandate expired on February 7, 2026, transferring executive authority to PM Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. Days earlier, TPC factions had attempted unsuccessfully to remove Fils-Aimé; TPC President Saint-Cyr refused to countersign the removal motion. On February 23, 2026, a 'National Pact for Stability' was signed by political parties and civil society, backing Fils-Aimé as the transitional authority pending August 2026 elections.
