Israeli Strike Kills Head of Hamas-Led Police in Northern Gaza
An Israeli air strike in the Sheikh Radwan area north of Gaza City killed Brigadier-General Abdel-Nasser al-Maqadma, head of the Hamas-run police force and governor of northern Gaza, on July 25, 2026. The Israeli military said he was affiliated with Hamas's military wing. Gaza's Interior Ministry said Israel was deliberately targeting police personnel "with the aim of spreading chaos in the Gaza Strip." The same day, separate Israeli strikes killed additional Palestinians across Gaza, including at Al-Aqsa Hospital, a medic in Nuseirat refugee camp, and civilians in Khan Younis.
