Overnight IDF Airstrikes Hit Nuseirat and Bureij Refugee Camps; Dozens Injured in Central Gaza

Israeli airstrikes struck the Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps in central Gaza Strip overnight on May 22–23, 2026 (Day 955 of the Gaza war), injuring dozens of Palestinians and causing heavy destruction across residential areas. Video footage from the scene showed widespread rubble and rescue teams working through the night. Both camps in central Gaza's deir al-Balah governorate have been repeatedly struck since the renewed military campaign began on May 11.
