IDF Strikes Kill at Least 13 in Gaza; Overnight Drone and Shelling Activity Continues
The Hamas-run Government Media Office reported April 27 that at least 13 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes on April 26, revising upward from the initial report of 4+ deaths. The IDF stated one strike killed an individual identified as an October 7 attacker. Overnight activity on April 26–27 included drone strikes, artillery shelling, and airstrikes across central and southern Gaza. Israeli forces have expanded what Israeli military sources call the 'Yellow Line' — the perimeter of Israeli military control — by approximately 37 km, with Israel now controlling roughly 60% of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian police officers have continued to be targeted; Israel has stated some were planning militant attacks. The pattern of daily strikes has continued despite the October 2025 ceasefire framework, with OHCHR recording 22 Palestinians killed in the week of April 15–21 alone, and total ceasefire-period deaths exceeding 800.
